A commemorative silver brooch that belonged towards the spouse of Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong is on the market.

Created by jeweler mail order brides Van Cleef & Arpels, the 18-carat silver brooch is certainly one of three which were presented to Armstrong along with his other Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins after their historic objective. a 4th brooch had been presented to Rose Kennedy, mom associated with belated President John F. Rau Antiques, told Fox Information. “There’s a diamond that is white represent in which the Eagle landed and around it, you can find five rubies to represent where Armstrong walked.”

The side that is reverse of brooch is inscribed “Neil Armstrong Sunday, July 20, 1969,” commemorating a single day if the astronaut took their famous very first steps from the Moon.
